SS Rajamouli says he may ‘accelerate’ work on RRR sequel after film wins Oscar for Naatu Naatu
SS Rajamouli has now opened up about the win’s impact on the film’s planned sequel. Speaking to a trade magazine, he said that he may now work faster on RRR 2.

SS Rajamouli, is on cloud nine as Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song on March 13. Speaking to Variety, the filmmaker opened up about RRR’s sequel. On being asked whether the Oscar win would motivate him to work faster on the project, he said this can ‘obviously’ happen.
“:Obviously, [Oscar win] is going to put some acceleration in the script. Definitely, yes, let’s see,.” said Rajamouli.
The filmmaker, last year, said that a sequel to RRR is in the works.

RRR is an action drama that features Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the tribal leader Komaram Bheem, and the revolutionary Alluri Sitarama Raju, respectively. The fictional saga, set in pre-independence India, revolves around their friendship and highlights their fight against British rule. SS Rajamouli’s first film after Baahbali 2 marks Alia Bhatt’s Tollywood debut.
RRR’s star-studded cast includes Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Makarand Deshpande, and Olivia Morris, among others.
