A tragic road accident in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar claimed the life of a 10-year-old boy and left five other school children injured when an overloaded auto-rickshaw overturned while returning from school.
Karimnagar: A 10-year-old boy died and five other students were injured when an auto-rickshaw carrying school children overturned near Mannempalli in Thimmapur mandal on Thursday evening.
The victims were returning home from Srirama Vidyalaya, Thimmapur when the accident occurred. The auto, carrying 10 students, overturned after the driver lost control while trying to avoid hitting a dog.
Nampalli Harshavardhan, who was seated beside the driver, sustained a severe head injury and succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital. The other injured students were treated and later discharged.
