Sunil Gavaskar Fumes & Questions Arshdeep Singh & Shivam Mavi’s Professionalism, Fans Agree

When discussing the match-losing errors made by Indian bowlers Arshdeep Singh  and Shivam Mavi against Sri Lanka in the second T20I, former Indian cricketer and all-time legend Sunil Gavaskar  didn’t hold back.

In the second T20I of the series against Sri Lanka, Team India got off to a bad start as the opening pair of Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka only scored 80 runs in 8.2 overs. However, an odd turn of events occurred in the game’s second over when left-armer Arshdeep Singh gave up a hat-trick of no-balls to end the over.

Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India, expressed his displeasure with the bowlers for repeatedly overstepping the line in an abrasive manner on television after Shivam Mavi, who was a national hero at the end of the first T20I match , again bowled a no-ball in the fourth over.

Gavaskar questioned the professionalism of the two Indian bowlers, saying that they could not be acting in such a heartbreakingly incompetent manner at such a crucial moment in the game.

Thursday’s cricket players frequently claim that they have no control over certain aspects of the game, but Gavaskar argued that they do have control over not bowling any balls. Another thing is what the batsman performs after they deliver the ball. The former Indian batsman, who was furious with the youngsters, asserted that they had complete control over not bowling a no-ball.

In T20 Internationals, Arshdeep Singh set an unfavourable record by becoming the first Indian bowler to bowl a hat-trick of no-balls. Ultimately, the left-armer surrendered 19 runs off of his opening over, allowing a six and a four off of two of the three free hits. Amazingly, Arshdeep exceeded the boundary three times in T20Is, increasing his no-ball total to 12.

India leads the three-match series 1-0 after registering a close 2-run victory in the opening game in Mumbai. Earlier, Hardik Pandya had won the toss and chosen to bowl in Pune.

The three-match ODI series will see the big three of India, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul, return to play before the T20I series begins. Rahul has been replaced as the team’s vice-captain for the series by Hardik Pandya.
