Over 40 quintals of rice seized while it was being smuggled in a goods lorry by V Raju, a resident of Siddipet, in Chinna Kodur mandal
Siddipet: Task Force personnel seized 52 quintals of PDS rice in separate incidents in the district on Thursday.
The Task Force seized 40 quintals of PDS rice while it was being smuggled in a goods lorry by V Raju (23), a resident of Siddipet, at Mallaram crossroads in Chinna Kodur mandal.
The police seized the rice and the vehicle, and registered a case against Raju. A probe is on.
In another incident, a man, A Sampath, was caught storing 12 quintals of rice illegally at a house at Sikindlapur in Chinna Kodur mandal. The police seized the rice and registered a case.
