Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) appealed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Supreme Court of India and other competent authorities to immediately intervene and initiate corrective action with regard to the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
“The administrative collapse of HCA is not only hindering the development of cricket in Hyderabad but also affecting the careers of budding cricketers, coaches, and support staff,” the TCA President Y. Laxminarayana and the general secretary Guruva Reddy, said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
“The Apex Council, which consists of 9 members, currently stands paralysed with the arrest of the President, treasurer and the secretary not traceable. Moreover,there are cases of conflict of interest against some of the other incumbent members of the Apex Council. So, effectively, it cannot hold any meetings legally. The body has lost its legitimacy, and any action taken without proper quorum would stand invalid,” the TCA officials said.
“It is important to highlight that Justice Nageshwar Rao, in his letter of appointment to HCA Election Officer Mr. Sampath Kumar, clearly instructed a probe into many issues. These instructions were completely ignored. Furthermore, in his final Report to the Supreme Court, Justice Rao reiterated this concern under Recommendation No. 8, demanding enquiry into the validity of HCA’s Apex Council,” the TCA officials said.
