Police said Mididoddi Kavita (40), working in a school in Koutala mandal, ended her life by hanging at her residence in Yellagoud Thota around 5 pm. She was said to have been deeply upset for a long time over not having children. Her husband works in the private sector.
A native of Kagaznagar, Kavita had served in various parts of the district and was known for her commitment to teaching. She was also a poet and dancer. Colleagues expressed shock at her death.
Based on a complaint from her parents, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
