Hyderabad: A 90-year-old woman was allegedly raped by unidentified persons in her house at Yacharam in Rangareddy district on the city outskirts on Wednesday midnight.
According to the police, the victim was sleeping in her house in Manthan Gowrelli village allegedly under the influence of alcohol, when the assailants entered and raped her.
Locals who noticed her on Thursday morning informed the village elders and the police.
On receiving information, the Yacharam police reached the spot and took up investigation. Later, the woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
The police booked a case and formed special teams to identify the suspects and nab them at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the villagers urged the police to nab the assailants who raped the elderly woman and punish them severely.
