Purushotham caught while taking a bribe of Rs 60,000 from an outsourcing security guard for an official favour
Karimnagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday nabbed A Purushotham (45), a selection grade secretary working at the Agriculture Market Committee, allegedly while taking a bribe of Rs 60,000 from an outsourcing security guard, Kariveda Srinivas Reddy, for doing an official favour of a commission agent.
Both were arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Karimnagar.
According to an ACB release, Purushotham had demanded the bribe from the complainant to renew the license of a wholesale fruit business commission agent. The tainted amount was recovered from the second accused, Srinivas Reddy, the release said.
The case was under further investigation, with details of the complainant being withheld for security reasons, the release said, also asking the public to contact the ACB’s toll-free number 1064 in case of demand of bribe by any public servant.
