Krishna attacked Manivardhan with a knife, resulting in severe injuries; he was immediately taken to an area hospital and later to Mahabubnagar for better treatment
Jogulamba Gadwal: An army jawan sustained serious injuries when he was attacked by his neighbour over loud music during Bathukamma festivities in Revulapally village, Dharoor mandal here on Monday night.
According to reports, women had gathered in large numbers to celebrate Bathukamma in the village. They danced in unison and in sync with the songs being played through a sound system. Irked over the loud music, Krishna, a resident of the village, demanded the women to turn off the sound system, according to reports.
Despite the women requesting Krishna that the festivities would be completed in a few minutes and the sound system would be turned off, he insisted that the celebrations be stopped immediately. As a heated argument took place between the women and Krishna, an army jawan, Manivardhan, tried to control the situation and pleaded with the women and Krishna not to argue.
Losing temper, Krishna attacked Manivardhan with a knife, resulting in severe injuries. He was immediately taken to an area hospital in Gadwal and after preliminary treatment, he was shifted to Mahabubnagar for better treatment.
Gadwal Circle Inspector Nageshwar Reddy said the accused had been taken into custody and based on the residents’ complaints, further action would be taken.
