Telangana: Court sentences man to life imprisonment for rape of two minors in Kothagudem
The accused took his relative’s children, aged six and four, to his house on the pretext of giving them chocolates and raped them on July 4, 2024
Kothagudem: The Principal District and Sessions judge Patil Vasanth sentenced a person to life imprisonment in a POCSO case on Thursday.
The accused Bhukya Nageshwara Rao alias Nagesh of Tangellagadda in Yellandu mandal, took his relative’s children, a six-year-old girl and a four-year-old girl to his house on the pretext of giving them chocolates and raped them on July 4, 2024.
The next day the girl’s father lodged a complaint with Yellandu police. Inspector of Police Bathula Satyanarayana registered a case, Kothagudem DSP (Yellandu in-charge DSP) Shaik Abdul Rahaman investigated and subsequently Yellandu DSP M Chandra Banu filed a chargesheet in the court after investigation.
A total of 15 witnesses were examined in the court on behalf of the prosecution. After hearing the arguments of both parties, the judge sentenced the accused Nageswara Rao to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 1,000.
Special public prosecutor V Nagi Reddy conducted the prosecution, additional public prosecutor PVD Lakshmi, Bharosa Centre legal officer G Sirisha, court nodal officer (SI) G Praveen Kumar, court liaison officer Sk Abdul Ghani and court duty officer T Srinivasa Rao assisted.
Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju appreciated the officials and staff who ensured the accused’s conviction in the case.
