Telangana: Fearing opposition to her love affair, 18-year-old kills self in Medak district
The girl allegedly consumed pesticide as her elder sister and brother-in-law were opposed to her relationship with a boy from the village
Medak: Fearing opposition from her family to a relationship she was in with a boy, an 18-year-old girl died, allegedly by suicide at Bonala village in Chegunta mandal.
According to the police, Peddolla Varalakshmi was staying with her elder sister Sirisha’s family while her parents, natives of Kamareddy district, had migrated to Hyderabad for work.
She reportedly fell in love with a boy from the same village, which Sirisha and her husband opposed.
Following this, when the family members were away from home, Varalakshmi allegedly consumed pesticide. She died while being shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad
A case was registered by the police and a probe is on.
