Telangana govt plans 2.5 km suspension bridge across Mir Alam Tank, to develop it into a tourism spot
To this effect, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy suggested to officials that three island like areas should be developed in Mir Alam Tank
HYDERABAD: The State government is planning to develop three islands like areas in Mir Alam tank to boost tourism prospects, apart from a 2.5 km suspension bridge across Mir Alam Tank. To this effect, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy suggested to officials that the three island areas should be developed on the lines of Singapore Gardens. Convention centres suitable for weddings, adventure parks, resorts, and hotels should be constructed for tourists to stay along with boating in the River Musi, he said.
At a meeting here on Friday, the Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare proposals for the development of the island zones under the Public Private Partnership mode. Directing the officials to expedite the Musi Rejuvenation Project works, he examined the designs of the bridge to be built on the Mir Alam Tank and the Gandhi Sarovar project to be developed at Bapughat.
Officials have been directed to float tenders for the construction of Mir Alam Tank Bridge in June. They have also been asked to complete the survey, prepare DPR, designs and proposals for the Musi Rejuvenation Project at the earliest.
“A survey should be conducted involving hydrology and environmental experts for this project. All necessary permissions should be obtained based on these reports,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the zoo park should also be upgraded in accordance with the new proposals.
The officials have been asked to examine all the possibilities for upgrading Nehru Zoo Park in consultation with the Central Zoo Authority.
