HC grants interim status quo in Sandhya Hotels demolition case

Hyderabad: Justice B Vijay Sen Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Monday heard a lunch-motion plea moved by Sandhya Hotels Private Limited complaining that HYDRAA carried out demolition work in violation of a subsisting court order.

Appearing for the petitioner, senior counsel B Mayur Reddy argued that despite the order passed in writ petition directing HYDRAA not to interfere with the structures raised by the petitioners in accordance with the building permissions, HYDRAA proceeded with the demolition on the property. He said the agency acted in open disregard of the Court’s directions.

Standing Counsel appearing for HYDRAA submitted that the demolition was confined only to encroachments on the road forming part of the FCI Layout. He requested the Court to post the matter to November 18 noting that the services of the learned Additional Advocate General have been engaged.

The Court granted interim status quo and posted the matter accordingly.
