Telangana High Court halts arrest of KT Rama Rao in Formula-E case

Senior Counsel CS Sundaram, representing KT Rama Rao, argued that the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s case against his client was “politically motivated.” He emphasized that there was no evidence of criminal misconduct and pointed out that the First Information Report (FIR) was filed after an unusually long delay of 14 months.

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Friday, has directed the government not to effect the arrest of BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, in a case registered by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).

This direction came on a petition filed by KT Rama Rao and was heard by Justic NC Shravan Kumar.

Senor Council CS Sundaram who represented KT Rama Rao argued that the Anti Corruption Bureau case against his client was “politically Motivated”. He argued that there was no evidence of any criminal misconduct in the case. Moreover the First Information Report (FIR) was registered after an abnormal delay of 14 months.

Even assuming that the allegations were true there would only be a procedural lapse and there is no “Personal enrichment”.

The court asked the government to file the counter by December 27, however investigation into the case could continue.
