Telangana: Kagaznagar Deputy Forest Range Officer suspended for dereliction of duty
Ramadevi reportedly failed to detect forest fires that destroyed around 50 hectares of forest and prevent encroachment of forest cover
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Kagaznagar Deputy Forest Range Officer (DRO) Ramadevi was suspended for negligence in controlling forest fires, encroachment of forest cover and tiger monitoring.
An order to this effect was issued by Field Director of Kawal Tiger Reserve S Shantaram on Thursday.
According to the order, Ramadevi was placed under suspension for dereliction of duty. She reportedly failed to detect forest fires that destroyed around 50 hectares of forest and to prevent encroachment of forest cover in the range.
She could not effectively monitor movement of tigers, according to an internal inquiry.
The inquiry was conducted into her role in the allegations.
Based on the findings of the report submitted by the officials of the Forest Department, action was initiated against Ramadevi.
Penchikalpet FRO Anil Kumar was posted as in-charge DRO of Kagaznagar forest range.
