Telangana Medical Council cracks down on quacks and unregistered doctors in Siddipet
The Telangana Medical Council uncovered four fake doctors, one unlicensed hospital, and an unregistered practitioner during inspections in Siddipet. Cases will be filed under multiple laws, and an ethics session was held. Citizens can report similar violations via phone or online
Hyderabad: Four unqualified medical practitioners (quacks), a private hospital operating without permission, and a doctor practising without registration were found during raids conducted by the Telangana Medical Council (TMC) in Siddipet.
The inspection teams — comprising Vice-Chairman Dr B Srinivas and members Dr Vishnu and Dr Vijaya — found that Arvind Sai Hospital was functioning without registration or permission from the District Medical Officer, and that doctors were absent from the facility.
At Pulse Neuro Superspecialty Hospital, a doctor was found practising without registration from the TMC.
The team also identified four unqualified individuals posing as medical practitioners: Prasad (operating Prasad First Aid Centre), Murali (Bharagavi First Aid Centre, Indiranagar), Nagaraj (Satwik First Aid Centre), and Sudhakar Reddy (Rajeshwari First Aid Centre, Gandhi Nagar).
“Cases will be registered against these individuals under Sections 34 and 54 of the NMC Act, Section 22 of the TSMPR Act, and Sections 318 and 319 of the BNS,” the Medical Council stated.
In addition, the Council inspected 20 other hospitals across the district to verify permissions from district medical officers and doctors’ registration certificates. An awareness session on the Code of Medical Ethics was also held for the medical community.
