Komuraiah got 12,959 votes as against 24,144 valid votes polled for the Teachers MLC election held on February 27. Vanga Mahender Reddy stood in the second position by securing 7,182 votes while Ashok Kumar got 2621 votes.
The sitting teachers’ MLC Kura Ragotham Reddy got only 428 votes. A total of 25041 votes were polled as against 27088. 897 were found invalid.
