Sangareddy: IG V Satyanarayana, who visited Jinnaram Shivalayam where the damage of a Shiva idol sparked minor communal violence on Tuesday, said monkeys damaged the idol.
Speaking to news reporters in Sangareddy on Wednesday, the IG said the monkeys had accidentally pushed down the Shiva idol while playing around it. Madrasa students were passing by very close to the place when the locals accused them of being responsible for the incident.
