Telangana: Parts of Asifabad, Mancherial see light rains, bring respite from sweltering heat

Farmers said that the rains affected mangoes which reached fruiting stage and standing maize crops, causing losses

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Parts of both Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial districts saw brief spells of rain on Thursday, bringing relief to the public from the scorching heat.

Kerameri, Wankidi, Sirpur (T), Chintalamaneplli, Penchikalpet, Jainoor, Sirpur (U), Koutala and Dahegaon mandals of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district registered light to very light rainfall ranging between 15.5 mm and 2.5 mm.

Similarly, Jaipur, Mancherial, Mandamarri, Nennal, Kannepalli and Kotapalli mandals in Mancherial district witnessed light rainfall.

People of the two districts found a respite from the sweltering heat wave conditions, following the showers. However, farmers said that the rains affected mangoes which reached fruiting stage and standing maize crops, causing losses. They requested the government to extend compensation for crop damage by carrying out a survey.
