Hyderabad: The Federation of Association of Technical Higher Education Institutions (FATHI) demanded that the State government immediately release the fee dues pending for four years, especially for students who recently completed their final year.
The FATHI also demanded the release of token amounts previously sanctioned to private professional colleges.
FATHI representatives, led by its chairman Dr N Ramesh Babu, K Krishna Rao, Sunil Kumar, and Dr K Ramdas, met Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to discuss their issues and demands here on Wednesday.
A representation demanding the early release of pending fee dues, particularly for private colleges offering engineering, pharmacy, MBA, BEd, law, and nursing programmes, was submitted.
The Deputy Chief Minister, according to FATHI, assured that the State government would clear the fee reimbursement dues in a phased manner.
During the meeting, Dr Babu presented an alternative financial plan aimed at clearing the dues without placing an additional burden on State finances.
Responding to this, the Deputy Chief Minister said a high-level meeting with Ministers, the Chief Secretary, and other senior officials concerned would be held on July 7 to take further decisions.
