Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education marks student’s credential invalid, withhold results

Ch Disha was left shocked on coming across a message ‘ No details found’ on Board’s website or ‘invalid hall ticket number’ on other results hosting websites

Hyderabad: A glaring error has come to limelight in the intermediate public examinations answer scripts evaluation with a student’s credential (hall ticket number) marked as invalid and results withheld without an explanation.

The issue came to the fore, when Ch Disha, an intermediate second year general student from a corporate junior college in Himayatnagar, tried to access her result on Tuesday. She was left shocked on coming across a message ‘ No details found’ on Board’s website or ‘invalid hall ticket number’ on other results hosting websites.

Initially, Disha who appeared for the Sanskrit paper – II, English paper – I, Botany, Zoology and Chemistry examinations as a private candidate thought it could be a technical issue. However, despite checking multiple times throughout the day, hall ticket status remained unchanged.

Worried about the result, a distressed Disha rushed to her college that flagged the issue. Following advice from the college authorities, her father Vijaya Raju, approached the Board officials who allegedly gave vague responses initially.

After repeated visits to the Board’s office in Nampally, Vijaya Raju with help of an acquaintance managed to meet a senior official on Thursday who on preliminary enquiry revealed that Disha’s English answer scripts was not evaluated.

“The officer checked on the computer and said that the English paper is pending and asked to get back on Saturday. No further information has been given to us,” Vijaya Raju said.

When reached for a comment over the issue, a Board official said there could be some reasons behind withholding a candidate’s result. “We will look into the issue and ensure that the candidate gets a positive response,” the official said.

This time, the Board withheld results of X students, including four in the first year and six in the second-year. Among the first-year students, all four candidates are from the general stream. In case of second-year exams, one general student and five private candidates’ results have been withheld.
