Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A 24-year-old man died, allegedly due to medical negligence after a surgery in a private hospital in Kagaznagar on Wednesday.
Elakucchula Thirupathi, son of Venkatesh from Gurudupet village in Koutala mandal, was admitted to Shanmukha Hospitals when he complained of stomachache on Wednesday morning. He underwent surgery at 6 pm, but could not gain consciousness till 8 pm. He breathed his last breath while being shifted to a hospital in Mancherial as his condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, his parents and relatives staged a sit-in in front of the hospital carrying the body demanding action against the doctors responsible for the death. They accused the doctors of negligence leading to the death of their son. They tried to barge into the hospital but were stopped by the police.
Thirupathi is survived by his wife, a daughter and son aged below 9.
Police said that no case was registered yet. The body was shifted to the Government General Hospital, Mancherial for post-mortem.
