Tension escalates in Hyderabad’s Ashok Nagar after Bandi Sanjay joins Group-I protests
Police presence stepped up; Union Minister vows to stay with protesting aspirants till they get justice
Hyderabad: Tension is on the rise in the city after Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar reached Ashok Nagar, which has been on the boil with the protests by Group-I aspirants over rescheduling their exams.
Sanjay Kumar, who reached the spot with his followers, spoke to the protesters and joined them in a sit-in on the road demanding justice.
Sanjay Kumar has announced that he would stay with the protesters till they got justice.
Earlier, with Sanjay Kumar announcing that he would be reaching Ashok Nagar, police increased its presence in the area and also began restraining Group I aspirants from leaving their hostels.
However, many managed to sneak past the cops and reach the main centre, where they joined the rest of the protesters.
Many women aspirants complained that police thrashed them indiscriminately and also that they were detained for more than 12 hours.
