Police reported that a group of youngsters held a procession with DJ music when local Sub-Inspector Madhusudhan Reddy arrived and halted the music. He instructed the youths to expedite the procession.
Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Pudur mandal of Vikarabad district on Sunday night when the police objected to playing DJ music during Ganesh idol immersion procession.
According to the police, a group of youngsters took out a procession and were playing DJ music when local sub inspector Madhusudhan Reddy reached the place and stopped the music. He asked the youth to fast track the procession.
An argument ensued between the sub inspector and the local youth over the playing DJ system.
On information Pargi CI Srinivas Rao reached the spot and pacified the youth. He then shifted the Ganesh idol to immersion point in his vehicle.
The local villagers and youth complained that the sub inspector was in an inebriated condition and had damaged the idol.
The higher ups ordered an enquiry into the incident.
