Tensions flare up as Congress workers attack KTR’s convoy at Musheerabad

Learning about KT Rama Rao’s visit to meet the victims of the beautification project, the Congress workers led by Motha Rohith obstructed his convoy in Musheerabad.

Hyderabad: Tensions flared up in Musheerabad on Tuesday after the Congress workers attacked the convoy of BRS working president KT Rama Rao, who was on his way to extend solidarity with the residents affected by the Musi River beautification project. Police had to intervene and prevent the situation from escalating.

Rama Rao was on his way to visit the affected areas of Golnaka in Amberpet constituency and meet the victims of the beautification project. Learning about his visit, the Congress workers led by Motha Rohith obstructed his convoy in Musheerabad.

They raised slogans of “Go Back KTR” and attacked the vehicles, demanding an immediate apology to Minister Konda Surekha as well as the Congress workers who were allegedly attacked outside Telangana Bhavan on Monday.

The BRS activists also responded in equal measure, resulting in a brief but tense standoff. The police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control, eventually allowing Rama Rao’s convoy to leave the spot.
