A tiger attack in Khadodi village, Adilabad, left four bullocks dead, triggering fear among locals. The animals, owned by farmer Tulasi Ram, were grazing near the forest when attacked. Forest officials suspect the tiger may have strayed from Maharashtra.
Adilabad: The killing of four bullocks by a tiger created panic among residents of Khadodi village in Gadiguda mandal on Saturday.
Villagers said the tiger killed four bullocks belonging to Tulasi Ram while they were grazing in a forest on the outskirts of the village. Tulasi Ram said each bullock was valued at Rs 25,000 and urged Forest officials to compensate him for the loss. He added that the animals had entered the forest after assisting him with farm work.
Forest officials rushed to the spot and launched an inquiry. They cautioned villagers to remain alert and said the tiger’s movement was being monitored. Officials suspect the animal may have strayed from neighbouring Maharashtra in search of new territory.
