‘Took 50 MLA’s under his nose’: Fadnavis taunts Thackerays after Aditya’s ‘scared’ remark

Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday took a jibe at former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray after the latter said that the Maharashtra government is scared of a 32-year-old.

Speaking at a press conference after concluding the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Fadnavis said “We were not scared of him or his father. We took 50 MLA’s right under his nose. They were saying Mumbai would burn. A matchstick didn’t burn.”

He was replying to a question regarding Aditya Thackeray, who had said that the “state government is sacred of a 32- year old and hence targeting him.”

Fadnavis also taunted former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray for attending the legislative Council for 46 minutes in the entire session. “Those who say democracy is in danger, were only there in the assembly for 46 minutes,” Devendra Fadnavis said.

Recently, the factions of Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde confronted each other at the party’s office at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters in South Mumbai on Wednesday evening. Members from both the factions entered into an office allocated to Shiv Sena at the BMC headquarters and claimed that they are the real ‘Shiv Sena’.
