The unfortunate incident occured when the manufacturers were attempting to shift the idols to another location using a crane.
Jagtial: Two labourers were electrocuted and six others injured while shifting Ganesh idols in Korutla town on Sunday.
According to the police, the incident occurred at a Ganesh idol manufacturing unit named Balaji Ganesh Manufacturing Unit on the outskirts of the town.
The manufacturers were attempting to shift the idols to another location using a crane, which came into contact with a 33 kV high-tension electric wire.
Two labourers, Alwala Vinod and Banti Sai, died due to electrocution, while six others were injured.
Upon receiving information, the local police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to hospital. A case has been registered, and investigation is underway.
