Hyderabad: Two persons are feared to have drowned in a lake at Shamirpet in city outskirts on Sunday afternoon.
A group of six friends from Jagathgirigutta came to the lake located near the Chitramma temple in Shamirpet police station area. All them then entered into the lake for a swim. “Balu and Sandeep went into the water and got drowned as they did not know how to swim,” said Shamirpet sub inspector, G Harikha.
All the six persons are residents of Jagathgirigutta and went to visit the temple and later headed to the lake where the incident took place. On information, the police reached the spot and roped in expert swimmers. The efforts to rescue them were halted due to darkness.
