UK offers 3,000 young Indians chance to work, stay for 2 years – Free ballot opens soon

Launched in 2023, the scheme is a mutual exchange program between the UK and India, offering citizens aged 18 to 30 the chance to live, work, and study in each other’s country. Interested applicants must submit their entries on gov.uk before the February 20 deadline. Participation in the ballot is free, and successful candidates will be selected randomly.

Hyderabad: Young Indians dreaming of either work, studies, or travel to the UK will have it soon. Applications for the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025 ballot open on February 18 and it allows an opportunity for 3000 nationals of India to live in the UK for two years.

The reciprocal scheme, which was launched in 2023, allows nationals of the UK and India, aged from 18 onwards through 30, to experience living in each other’s country. Applications are available on gov.uk before February 20, and ballot entry is free, winners are selected at random.

Eligibility requires that applicants hold a UK bachelor-level degree or higher. Applicants must then be able to show they will have at least £2,530 in the bank for living expenses for the first month. Winning entrants are notified within two weeks. Winning candidates will then have 90 days beginning from the date of confirmation to apply for their visas.

Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India, urged young Indians to consider applying, stressing the scheme as an equal and tangible contributor to greater understanding between the two modern nations, all-from-All America.

However, candidates are warned against fraudsters who may offer assistance to applicants. Since no agent can guarantee obtainment of a visa under the scheme in exchange for payment, more official information and the conditions of eligibility can be found on the UK Home Office website.
