Una Hate Speech Case: Kajal Hindustani Arrested By Gujarat Police
Right wing activist Kajal Hindustani has finally been arrested by Gir Somnath police in Gujarat. Kajal was absconding since she was booked last week for allegedly delivering a hate speech during Ram Navami celebrations in Una town.
Kajal Shingala alias Kajal Hindusthani surrendered at Una town Police station on Sunday. She has now been sent to judicial custody after police did not seek her remand.
Kajal allegedly made a hate speech against minority community during Ram Navami celebrations organised by the Hindu right-wing organisation Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on March 30. She was subsequently booked by police under Sections 295(A) (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage the religious feelings) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Besides Kajal Hindustani, police have also filed FIR against 76 people and 200 others unnamed for inciting riots.
Soon after her speech, tension gripped the area which led to a violence when a mob allegedly indulged in violence and also pelting stones at the homes and passersby. The mob also vandalised vehicles.
Kajal Hindustani claims herself to be an entrepreneur and a social activist. She has a handsome following of 86.8k on Twitter.
Kajal has reportedly campaigned for Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections in Rajasthan’s Kota.
