UP BJP youth wing’s Richa Rajpoot booked for objectionable comments against SP’s Dimple Yadav

The Samajwadi Party leader (SP) state chief, Naresh Uttam Patel, lodged an FIR against Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) social media in-charge Richa Rajpoot alleging that she made objectionable comments against SP MP and party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav.

A case was registered against her at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow. The Samajwadi Party also shared her tweets where she used derogatory remarks against Dimple Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav.

Commissioner of Police, SB Shriadkar, said, “SP leader registered a complaint against Dr Richa Rajpoot for using derogatory language. We will investigate the issue. It is the government’s priority to take action in all cases where offensive language is used against women. Legal action will be taken against all accused.”

“The probe is underway in four cases and legal action will be taken against everyone who used offensive language against women. These tweets were suspected to hamper the peace and cases have been registered. Warrants will be issued against all involved,” he added.

Earlier, on January 4, Richa Rajpoot lodged a complaint in the same police station against Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Manish Jagan Agarwal, who handles the party’s social media cell.

In her complaint, Rajpoot alleged that SP workers threatened her with rape and assassinated her character on social media. She added that she feared for her life and safety.

On Sunday morning, Manish Jagan Agarwal was arrested by the Lucknow police.

Soon after Agarwal’s arrest, SP national president Akhilesh Yadav reached the Lucknow police headquarters. Party workers also staged a protest outside the headquarters. He was accompanied by state president Naresh Uttam Patel, national spokesperson Rajendra Choudhary and other senior leaders.

In a tweet, the SP wrote on its official Twitter handle, “Arrest of Samajwadi Party worker Manish Jagan Agarwal by Lucknow Police is condemnable and shameful! Police should release the SP worker immediately.”
