Vexed with the Congress, says Jeevan Reddy

The MLC severely condemned the murder of his close aid Gangareddy (53) on Tuesday. He staged a protest on the road and vented his ire over the Congress leadership.

Hyderabad: In a clear indication of adverse impact of encouraging defections into the party, Congress MLC Jeevan Reddy said he was vexed with State leadership as he and his followers were being humiliated repeatedly over different issues and were undergoing mental trauma.

The MLC severely condemned the murder of his close aid Gangareddy (53) on Tuesday. He staged a protest on the road and vented his ire over the Congress leadership.

All the attempts by TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and Congress Whip Adluri Laxman to console the MLC turned futile. Though, the Congress whip accompanied the MLC in the protest on the road, he was not convinced.

“I am vexed and tired of this humiliation. I do not want you and your party,” MLC Jeevan Reddy said openly in public. Speaking to media persons, the MLC said he has been complaining about the lethargic attitude of the police in protecting his supporters in the constituency. “The situation has come to a stage, where we are to introspect about our position in Congress party. In the guise of Congress, BRS leaders are subjecting us to lot of inconvenience,” Jeevan Reddy slammed.

Referring to the turncoat leaders’ entry into the Congress, he said the situation in many constituencies was worrisome. Leaders were repeatedly questioning about our position in the party. “We are staunch followers of the Congress and have immense respect towards Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Today, Gangareddy’s death is a personal loss to me,” said an emotional Jeevan Reddy.

The worst part was despite raising these issues with party leadership there was no respite. “Why should I continue in politics? I will rather serve the people through an NGO,” Jeevan Reddy said.

Jeevan Reddy echoing Telangana’s feeling: KTR

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said MLC and senior Congress leader Jeevan Reddy echoed what the rest of Telangana has been saying since the last few months. “Law and order in Telangana has been a major concern. Without a full time Home Minister and more importantly with police being kept entirely busy in political affairs, law enforcement is crippled,” he said on X.

“Hope wisdom prevails in political bosses and our efficient police officers are given a free hand to focus on their primary job of maintaining peace and harmony,” he added.
