Vijay Deverakonda charged a whopping Rs 35 crore for ‘Liger’, while co-star Ananya Panday was paid THIS much
The much-awaited film ‘Liger’, was finally released in theatres on Thursday but has reportedly failed to impress the audience and critics, who have labelled the mass entertainer a waste of time.
The film, given its hype, triggered huge interest among movie buffs and fans as legendary boxer Mike Tyson also made his debut in Indian cinema. Not to mention, it also teased some high-octane action sequences. As per reports, the two-hour-twenty-minute film has seven fights and six songs, which means that the makers spent a hefty amount right from the word go.
It is being reported that the film’s main character Vijay Deverakonda charged a whopping amount, while his co-stars didn’t make much.
Here’s how much ‘Liger’ cast members were paid:
Vijay Deverakonda – Rs 35 crore
Ananya Panday – Rs 3 crore
Ronit Bose Roy – Rs 1.5 crore
Ramya Krishnan – Rs 1 crore
It is still unclear how much Mike Tyson was paid for his cameo in the film.
Vijay’s character, who’s an MMA fighter in the film, shows him acing the fight sequences with ease though he has a stammering problem. The actor went through a huge body transformation for the film and it was quite time-consuming.
During a media interaction he said, “From the time I read the script, I decided to get my body right. Yes, it was tough but worth doing everything for this film. I have given my everything to Liger. Thanks to the pandemic, we have got the time for preparation.”
Helmed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar, ‘Liger’ released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Apart from ‘Liger’, Vijay will also be seen in a multi-lingual film ‘Khushi’ alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu, which is slated to release on December 23, 2022.
Meanwhile, Ananya has ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ along with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Gourav Adarsh.
