‘Vikram’ Beats ‘Baahubali 2’, ‘KGF 2’ & ‘RRR’ Box-Office Records In Parts of South India

With Bollywood films getting a sad beating in terms of their box-office runs and money spells going dry for most big budget films like Dhaakad and Samrat Prithviraj, pan Indian stars like Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Kamal Hassan are saving the day for cinema across the country. Kamal Haasan’s Vikram has shattered records in less than a week and the high on action drama is showing no signs of stopping.

The action thriller film, which was made on a budget of Rs 120-150 crores has already made a business of over Rs 250 crores in its first week of release. While the film is growing stronger in parts of North India and overseas as well, this film has already managed to cross and break some stellar box office records held in Tamil Nadu by blockbusters like Baahubali 2, KGF 2, RRR and even Master.

The movie is actually on its way to beat Baahubali 2 as the highest all-time grosser in that part of South India. Baahubali 2’s collection at the Tamil Nadu box-office was around Rs 155 crores, and it was also the fastest growing movie to touch Rs 100 crore out there. KGF 2 garnered around Rs 100 crores, while RRR made around Rs 75 crores in Tamil Nadu. Vikram has already managed to rake in over Rs 131 crores in its first week itself and will soon dethrone all these big blockbusters.
