Viveka Murder Case: HC Grants Anticipatory Bail to Avinash Reddy
The Telangana High Court on Thursday allowed the anticipatory bail application filed by Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy in YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday allowed the anticipatory bail application filed by Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy in YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. Justice M. Laxman, while granting the anticipatory bail to Avinash Reddy, however, faulted the media trial in the said case and also took serious view of media’s derogatory comments against Judicial process by selective media.
Justice M. Laxman observed, “The individuals of selective media facilitated and abetted by airing views of selective personnel of their choice with conscious knowledge of their antecedents to intimidate, to threaten and to damage my reputation by personal attack.”
The Judge directed the Registry of High Court to place this order and video clippings of debates of Mahaa News and ABN News (Telugu) dated 26/5/2023 in regard to evening/early night debates over present proceedings along with this order before the Chief Justice of High Court for the State of Telangana to take appropriate decision.
On the anticipatory bail plea requested by Avinash Reddy, the court ordered that Avinash Reddy be released on bail, in the event of his arrest by the CBI in connection with YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case , on him furnishing a personal bond for Rs.5,00,000/- with two sureties for a like sum each to the satisfaction of the CBI.
Other conditions state that, Avinash shall not leave the country without prior permission from the CBI, till the investigation is completed. He shall not tamper with the prosecution witnesses or alter any evidence.
He shall appear before the C.B.I Police on every Saturday from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm., till the end of June, 2023 and shall regularly appear as and when he is required for the investigation.
