Sangareddy: A school bus driver averted a major mishap in Zaheerabad town on Monday evening by making students alight immediately after he noticed smoke emanating from the engine.

The bus had halted at Bidar Cross Road for a student to get down when the driver spotted smoke emerging from the engine, and the fire began gradually engulfing the vehicle.

Reacting without delay, he ensured that all students got down safely from the bus.

Locals rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The students of Raos International School were later shifted to another bus and dropped off at their respective houses.
