Watch: Hyderabad Central Crime Station police detain 77-year-old man for abusing Chief Minister

The police in Mufti picked up Darshanam Venkataiah from his residence in Chinna Mupparam of Inugurthi mandal in Mahabubabad district

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) officials have reportedly detained Darshanam Venkataiah (77) in connection with the case booked over alleged derogatory comments against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Venkataiah, from Chinna Mupparam of Inugurthi mandal in Mahabubabad district, while speaking to the media allegedly used abusive language while criticising the rule of Revanth Reddy.

It was in the case last week, when the police had arrested two women journalists Revathi and Thanvi Yadav for broadcasting a video in which Venkataiah spoke.

According to the family members, the police in Mufti picked up Venkataiah late in the afternoon from his house.

The family members said the police did not heed their pleas not to take him away as he was ill.

Further, the police team did not give any information to the family members as to where Venkataiah was being taken.

The police did not listen to him even after he told them that he was ill nor did they give any information to his family members leaving them anxious.
