Hyderabad: Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and hailstorms caused mayhem in Saudi Arabian cities of Mecca, Medina, and Jeddah, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Videos going viral on social media from these areas show cars being swept away by the floodwaters, while buses are stuck in the middle of the road. Reportedly, several people are stuck in the floods, and rescue operations are underway.
In some videos, men can be seen forming human chains to rescue children trapped in the floods.
The harsh weather conditions are unlikely to subside, as Saudi Arabia’s Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mecca, Medina, and its surrounding areas.
