Khammam: A wedding ceremony in Abbasupuram thanda of Kamepalli mandal, Khammam district, turned tragic when the bride’s mother collapsed and died of a heart stroke while sending off her newlywed daughter.
According to locals, Banoth Mohanlal and Kalyani had celebrated the wedding of their daughter Sindhu with a groom from Kothathanda of Tekulapally mandal in Kothagudem district on Sunday.
During the vidai (send-off) late in the evening, the bride’s mother Kalyani (38) suddenly collapsed. Family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared that she had died of a heart attack.
The joyous occasion soon turned into grief, with a pall of gloom descending on Abbasupuram. The family, who had gathered for celebrations, performed Kalyani’s last rites on Monday.
