“Despite ED raids on Congress leaders in the State, BJP leaders have maintained a conspicuous silence,” he said
Hyderabad: Pointing out at the BJP- Congress nexus in Telangana politics, BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Sunday wondered over the source of the protective cover being enjoyed by certain Congress leaders in power with ill-gotten wealth amassed in large scale.
Taking to social media platform X, he questioned the silence of the two parties over the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids in the State recently and sought to know who was the ‘Big Brother’ protecting Congress leaders in Telangana from the ED. Pointing out that Congress and BJP leaders put up a show of rivalry in Delhi, he said they seemed to be sharing a discreet bonding in Telangana. “Despite ED raids on Congress leaders in the State, BJP leaders have maintained a conspicuous silence,” he said, emphasizing that the people need to know who was shielding Congress leaders from these investigations.
Referring to the saying that “reality is stranger than fiction,” Rama Rao expressed his belief that the saying held true for the events unfolding in Telangana. He cited two major instances – a raid by the ED at the residence of a wealthy Congress Minister in Telangana two weeks ago, which, according to media reports, revealed hundreds of crores in cash. Despite this, neither the Congress, the BJP, nor the ED had made any statement.
Recalling the ED’s revelation that Rs.40 crore linked to the Valmiki scam in Karnataka was funneled into Telangana by the Congress during the recent Parliamentary elections, he said despite this serious claim, there were no arrests or formal investigations.
He questioned the motives behind these delays, suggesting a deeper political conspiracy.
“The public needs to know who is the ‘Big Brother’ ensuring that Congress leaders in Telangana are immune from ED scrutiny,” he asserted.
