WARANGAL: The BJP government is trying to privatise all government companies, in part it is trying to sell the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) through auction, alleged ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod.

They were speaking at a maha dharna, ‘Singareni Siren Jung,’ held at the Ambedkar centre in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Saturday, following a call was given by BRS working president and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao to protest the alleged privatisation of SCCL.

The ministers alleged that the BJP government was discriminating against Telangana state. The SCCL was earning huge profits and providing employment opportunities directly and indirectly to thousands of people, they said.

With privatisation, the lives of the thousands of people who depend on SCCL would be affected, the ministers said. The people would not sit quiet and would teach a fitting lesson to the BJP government at the Centre if it does not withdraw its decision to privatise SCCL, they said.

BRS cadre who attended in large numbers raised slogans against the BJP government saying ‘Modi Hatao Singareni Bachao’ and demanded the withdrawal of the alleged decision to privatise the coal miner and also allocate coal mines to it instead of asking it to bid in an auction.

MPs Maloth Kavitha, P. Dayakar, MLAs P. Sudharshan, A. Ramesh, N. Narednar and M. Yadagiri Reddy, ZP chairpersons J. Sri Harshini, Putta Madhu, P.Sampath, Bindu were present.
