Woman loses a leg as tractor trolley headed for Bhadrachalam overturns in Kothagudem
They were said to be tired after a long walk and climbed up the tractor to reach Bhadrachalam
Kothagudem: A young woman lost one of her feet, as a tractor trolley carrying devotees, headed for Bhadrachalam from AP, overturned at Nandipadu village of Aswaraopet mandal in the district on Thursday.
The devotees from West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh proceeded towards Bhadrachalam in a padayatra to attend Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavams. They were said to be tired after a long walk and climbed up the tractor to reach Bhadrachalam.
As the tractor driver lost control of the vehicle it overturned at the village as a result of which a foot of the 20 year old woman, Kuchipudi Manju of Chagallu was cut off. Two others Palakurthi Gangabhavani and Kondapalli Srinivasarao were seriously injured in the incident.
The injured were taken to Aswaraopet Government Area Hospital and provided first aid. Manju was rushed to Vijayawada for better treatment with the severed foot packed in an ice box.
