Yoga Mahotsav to be held at Parade Grounds on May 27

Union minister of Ayush, ports, shipping and waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, and Union minister of tourism, culture G. Kishan Reddy will join the Yoga Utsav along with their family to show India’s unity globally for the cause of public health.

HYDERABAD: The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) is hosting a grand Yoga Mahotsav at Parade Ground, Secunderabad, on May 27 from 6 am.

MDNIY, under the aegis of the Ministry of Ayush,  in collaboration with various stakeholders, has initiated a 100-day countdown programme to promote yoga in 100 different locations across India.

The programme commenced on March 13, 2023. As part of the initiative, events have been organised in New Delhi, Dibrugarh (Assam), and Jaipur (Rajasthan) at the 100-day, 75-day, and 50-day marks leading up to International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2023.

Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and Health and finance minister T. Harish Rao have been invited to grace the occasion. More than 20,000 Yoga enthusiasts along with celebrities, sportspersons and senior officials from the state and the Centre are likely to participate in the event.
