‘You guys have messed my trip’: Wasim Akram slams Airways for ‘pathetic service’, Chris Lynn responds
Wasim Akram has been in the news in recent times for quite some controversial statements he made on his ex-teammates in his memoir. The legendary fast bowler now again made headlines, as he slammed Australian airlines company on Twitter for a delayed flight.
Wasim Akram, who was planning a trip from Dallas to Melbourne, where his wife stays, had his flight between the two cities cancelled, and the announcement was made just 10 hours before the flight was supposed to take off. Irked at this, the legendary left-arm Pakistan pacer lashed out at Airways on his official Twitter account.
“Qantas airline never ever flying with them again they cancelled my flight from Dallas to Melbourne just 10 hours before departure without any reason given . And no help when I called their call centre pathetic service. You guys have messed my trip up. #Quantas #NeverAgain,” Akram wrote on Twitter
Australian batsman Chris Lynn, too responded to the tweet complaining of another airline service.
In fact, a lot of other fans also commented about their harrowing experience with the Airways under Wasim Akram’s tweet. “During COVID my two flights from different destination cancelled and they didn’t refund me any amounts yet, it becomes habit of most of airlines,” a user complained.
The Airways even responded to this user by saying, “Hi Haseef, we’re sorry to hear this. We’d like to look into this for you. Please DM us your booking reference, full passenger names, original flight details and travel dates so we can further assist. AT.”
Wasim Akram is one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time. He is the leading wicket-taking fast bowler in ODIs with 502 wickets. He also has scalped 414 wickets in his Test Match career for Pakistan.
