Young couple dies by suicide after families oppose relationship in Telangana’s Siddipet

While Shivaramulu was found hanging in his agricultural field on the village outskirts, Kalpana died by suicide at her residence

Siddipet: A young couple’s love story ended in tragedy at Avusalonipally in Wargal mandal late on Tuesday night.

According to the police, Shivaramulu (21) and Kalpana (19) belonged to different communities. Their relationship faced strong opposition from both families, and Kalpana’s parents had begun searching for a prospective groom. Depressed over this, the couple decided to end their lives.

While Shivaramulu was found hanging in his agricultural field on the village outskirts, Kalpana died by suicide at her residence. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning, leaving the village in deep shock.

Police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the Government Hospital in Gajwel for postmortem. The investigation is under way.
