Chop my head, beat me with chappals if BRS fulfills promises: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay
Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay said that he was prepared to get his head chopped or be beaten with chappals (slippers) if the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government implemented the promises it had made to the people.
Addressing the BJP workers at Siricilla on Thursday as part of campaigning in the Cooperative Electric Supply Society (CESS) elections, Bandi Sanjay ridiculed BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for saying that the Telangana model of development would be replicated all over the country.
Where is the development in Telangana? KCR has not implemented any of his promises, including crop loan waiver, filling up of job vacancies, payment of unemployment allowance, completion of double bedroom houses, three acres of land for Dalits and financial support to gram panchayats,” he said.
On the BRS chief’s call for empowering Telangana farmers, the BJP state president said that farmers continue to commit suicides, with the KCR government not taking up timely procurement of paddy and not supplying urea free of cost.
Even the round-the-clock power supply to the agriculture sector has become a failure, he said.
Bandi Sanjay claimed it was the PM Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre which extended assistance to farmers. “The Centre is ready to provide all possible assistance to Telangana, but the state government is not cooperating with it,” he alleged.
The BJP president said while Telangana Rashtra Samithi has become bankrupt, KCR converted it into BRS, which is nothing but Bandipotla Rashtra Samithi or Bar and Restaurant Samithi. “He is making tall claims about BRS by encouraging pre-paid and post-paid defectors,” he said.
Stating that arrogance had gone to the head of KCR and his family members, Sanjay said while his father had threatened to break his head into six pieces, the son wanted to beat him with chappals.
“And the daughter says she will beat BJP MP Arvind with chappals. Let the KCR government implement all the promises it has made to the people. We are ready to face the beating with chappals or get our heads chopped,” he said.
The BJP president accused the BRS government of pushing the Rajanna-Siricilla Cooperative Electric Supply Society (CESS) into deep debt.
“Who is responsible for CESS plunging into a debt of Rs 450 crore? Why are the government departments not paying electricity dues to the extent of Rs 165 crore? Why is the government not releasing a subsidy of Rs 40 crore to the CESS for the power loom subsidy? Is it not true that the CESS is facing a burden of Rs 250 crore in the form of surcharge imposed by Discoms due to non-payment of all these dues?” he asked.
He alleged that CM KCR was conspiring to merge Siricilla CESS into Telangana Transco by projecting it as a loss-making company. “It is like branding a dog as mad in order to kill it,” he alleged.
Sanjay also lashed out at G Srinivasa Rao, the Director of Health, for his comment that Covid-19 had come down in India because of Christianity.
“How dare you say preach Christianity despite being a government official? He should leave India immediately,” he said, and called for his ouster.
