Congress activist objects to Srinivas as SIT chief

Hyderabad: Congress activist Bakka Judson has urged Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to remove A.R. Srinivas who is leading SIT investigation Team in the paper leak case.

In his complaint submitted on Wednesday, Judson held that TSPSC has been facing widespread criticism since the arrest of the accused involved in the alleged paper leak. Protesters have sought the resignation of TSPSC chairman Dr B. Janardhan Reddy and an impartial probe by a sitting high court judge.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police handed over the investigation to a special investigation team led by additional commissioner A.R. Srinivas.

“Justice G. Radha Rani of the high court has issued contempt proceedings in case no 826 of 2021 on A.R. Srinivas, the then Deputy Commissioner of Police involved in the Contempt case which is sentenced to imprisonment for four weeks also fine of Rs 2,000. He is presently under conviction. The court has directed the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City and the state of Telangana represented by its principal secretary, and home department to initiate disciplinary action against Srinivas. How can such a tainted police officer head SIT and give a factual presentation,” he asked.
