Shah Rukh Khan in and as Pathaan has been the talk of the town. We know you are not wondering why but Pathaan trailer is the current topic of discussion. The film is slated to release on January 25 amid a series of controversies and boycott calls. However, SRK did touch base on patriotism and the love for his country in the 2-minute 28-second trailer. And not to miss, he ended the trailer with the words ‘Jai Hind’!
Shah Rukh Khan and YRF found themselves in soup after the first track from the film, Besharam Rang, released last month. A section of the audience found Deepika Padukone wearing a saffron bikini offensive. To top it all, ‘Boycott Pathaan’ has been a top Twitter trend for days now. Amid the same, the trailer of the film was unveiled on January 10.
While it started off with seeti maar dialogues and high-octane action sequences, the superstar didn’t leave any stone unturned to prove his patriotism for the country. Which explains why he ended the Pathaan trailer with ‘Jai Hind’. And not to forget, his dialogue about Indian soldiers which goes, “Ek soldier ye nahi poochta desh ne uske liye kya kiya, poochta hain wo desh ke liye kya kar sakta hain.”
Shah Rukh Khan, at KIFF 2022, first spoke a few lines in Bengali, and then spoke about social media and cinema in English. Several bits from the clip went viral. For the unaware, Pathaan and its first single, Besharam Rang received a lot of online flak. While SRK didn’t comment about it for the longest time, but probably hinting at the online trolls, he said, “Hamare jaise positive log zinda hai (We are positive and alive).” Soon after, hashtags such as ‘Pathaan Dekhega Hindustan’ and ‘Pathaan First Day First Show’ became the top trends on Twitter.
