Bhatti warns KCR against usurping poor people’s lands

CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka embarked on the padayatra from Adilabad to ensure justice for the people of Telangana state.

HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka warned Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao against the forcible acquisition of land given to the poor by the previous Congress governments. “We will restore the lands taken by your government back to the poor in accordance with law,” he said, after hoisting the party flag as part of his padayatra at Gaggalapalli village in Nagarkurnool constituency on Monday.

Addressing a street corner meeting in the village, along with Mallu Ravi, he said that it was wicked on the part of the BRS government to block 200 acres of land given to Dalits and tribals in Survey No. 183 of the village under Dharani. “Better be wary of coming anywhere near the lands,” he warned the state government.

Disclosing that he embarked on the padayatra from Adilabad to ensure justice for the people of Telangana state, Bhatti Vikramarka said that the state’s riches have been looted by BRS leaders.

Recalling the welfare-oriented administration of the Congress government, he said that nine essential commodities used to be distributed through fair-price shops, whereas the BRS government was giving only rice.

Does not the local MLA have the responsibility to provide irrigation facilities to farmers in his constituency by completing the canals, he asked.

Even after the farmers cultivated crops facing all hardships, the Telangana state government was not even in a position to purchase paddy. “I have seen farmers waiting for the last 15 days with their paddy on the roads along Jadcherla, Nagar Kurnool, Kollapur and other areas. The ruling party legislators have done nothing to alleviate the woes of farmers,” he said.
